On December 16, 2020, following a competitive sales process and a challenging completion timetable of just over a month, Innova Energy acquired a 5MW operational solar plant located at a former BP Chemicals works in Baglan Bay, South Wales.
The photovoltaic site was commissioned in May 2014 and accredited to receive payments under the UK’s Feed-Tariff (FIT) at 8.1p/kWh for 20 years and escalated annually by RPI.
Andrew Kaye, Director of Innova Energy said:
“The history of the site and the vendors’ timetable presented two key challenges which were overcome by a multi-disciplined, straight forward and pragmatic approach taken by both Innova and St Modwens.”
