Novus secures solar success in Warwickshire

23rd December 2022

Novus Renewable Services Limited (Novus) secured planning permission for Innova Renewables’ Elms Farm Solar Farm earlier this year. Planning permission was granted by Stratford Upon Avon District Council in August 2022.

Elms Farm is a 25MWp solar project located north of Wellesbourne, Warwickshire. The project received significant support from residents in the district and with no objections from statutory consultees. The solar project is expected to produce enough electricity to power 9% of homes in the district and features a number of ecological and landscape enhancements to achieve a biodiversity net gain of 90%

We are currently working towards discharge of pre-commencement conditions and will start construction in 2023.

Simon Gamage, Planning Director for Innova said:

“We were delighted to receive planning permission for this project, which will deliver much-needed renewable energy to the district’s electricity network. We are grateful to the Local Planning Authorities and their statutory consultees for their engagement leading up to and through the determination processes for the planning application. I’d like to say thanks for some great work by our internal team and expert consultants to get to this point. Well done to all involved”.

We look forward to working with Stratford Upon Avon District Council and local stakeholders as we head towards discharging conditions and commencing work on site”.

The application submission was managed by Corylus Planning and Environmental Ltd and with stakeholder engagement services provided by Instinctif Partners.
