Innova Press Release, 29th November 2024
Innova are pleased to announce that planning consent has been granted by Winchester City Council for South Lynch Solar Farm.
Located to the west of Winchester, the solar farm will deliver up to 20MW of renewable energy, providing enough electricity to power around 4,700 homes a year and save approximately 4,054 tonnes of CO2 per year.
South Lynch Solar Farm will also deliver significant Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), going above and beyond the required 10% with an 81.5% increase in habitat units and a 63.28% increase in hedgerow units.
In addition to the environmental benefits, Innova is putting in place community and charity benefit funds which will provide funding for the operational lifetime of the project.
The approval of the South Lynch solar farm represents a major step forward in Innova’s continued commitment to expanding renewable energy infrastructure.
Nicola Jones, Principal Planning Manager at Innova, said:
