The sites that have been awarded CfDs are:
Each site was awarded a 2012 strike price of £50.07 per MWh. The total solar capacity of the sites is approximately 138MWp, and combined will produce enough energy to power over 35,000 homes in the UK, and save over 30,000T of CO2 emissions each year.
The CfD is a government scheme designed to encourage the development of new renewable energy generation in the UK. The new government recently increased the allocated CfD budget from £1 billion to £1.5 billion, unlocking further investment opportunities into new renewable projects.
Innova was previously awarded CfDs for three solar projects (Carn Nicholas in Swansea, Stokeford in Dorset, and Bicker Fen in Lincolnshire) in July 2022, bringing their CfD-allocated sites to a total of nine, and a total solar capacity of approximately 200MWp.
Alongside Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Innova’s six new CfD allocations will propel the company further forward in their mission to provide clean energy to communities and businesses, take large energy users off grid, exceed their environmental obligations, and ultimately play a major role in the UK’s journey towards achieving Net Zero by 2050.
Daniel Mushin, Managing Director, Corporate Finance at Innova, said:
“It’s fantastic to see six more of Innova’s projects being allocated CfDs, and we’re delighted to be part of such an invaluable government initiative. These six renewable developments, alongside the others in our portfolio, will play a significant role in delivering zero-carbon power at affordable prices, and the CfDs will only push us further in the right direction to reach that goal.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Innova who has worked towards this positive outcome, and I look forward to seeing its impact on Net Zero in the years to come.”
